We are excited to announce that the 22nd Annual Morgan Invasion will be held at the Davis Island Yacht Club this year. Progress and construction at the Treasure Island Tennis and Yacht Club made this necessary last year and this year, and the sailors at the Davis Islands Yacht Club are thrilled to be able to host the event again. Please plan on joining Charley Morgan on Hillsborough Bay for the 22st Annual Morgan invasion. Race day is April 21st, 2007. This is one more opportunity to experience the Morgan Invasion in Tampa Bay and visit the new DIYC clubhouse.

TITYC Dockmaster, Les Lathrop, will assume Dockmaster duties at DIYC from 1200 Friday until 1200 Sunday. He'll be greeting skippers upon arrival and organize the raft-up. If you would like to come early, contact DIYC for arrangements (813-254-1699).

Attention California Morgan Invasion Participants! We're encouraging you to come spend the weekend with us in Tampa this year!

No boat? NO PROBLEM!! There will be room on participating boats if you want to race, and spectator boats will be available.

A fireside chat with Charley Morgan will be held Friday evening, which will be a fun time to hear stories and share experiences.

A new tradition for the Morgan Invasion has been to hold a late morning skipper's meeting on Saturday. This allows participants delivering their boats Saturday morning to have more time to get to the club. In addition, crews have more time to get to the club on Saturday, so we'll be repeating this tradition in 2006. The skipper's meeting will be held at 1100 on Saturday in the clubhouse. Racers will leave the docks at the sound of the cannon with the first start to be determined by wind conditions for the day.

After racing on Saturday, we'll be gathering on the first floor of the clubhouse for dinner, drinks and live music. The awards presentation will begin at 1900.

Treasure Hunt for Kids 6 to 12 will also be held immediately after racing. Dont forget your best pirate costume!!

Be sure to dress up in your pirate garb on Saturday night. This includes spouses and children, and there will be a prize for the best-dressed pirate on Saturday night!

Morgan Invasion polo shirts will be available for sale during the regatta. These are beautiful embroidered logo shirts that will sell fast. Pre-orders during registration will be significantly discounted.

Photo opportunities with Charley Morgan will be available after the race on Saturday. You can also get him to sign your Morgan Invasion shirt !!

Each of the first 15 entries received for the 2007 Morgan Invasion will receive as a gift from the DIYC organizing committee, a limited edition, print, of an ink drawing of the famous ocean racing yawl PAPER TIGER, designed and campaigned by Charley Morgan.
